Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

8bits staff are certified in Search Engine Optimisation, ensuring new sites will be built ‘Search Engine friendly’ and submitted to Search Engines upon launch. (Further Search Engine Marketing services such as Pay Per Click and Organic Result Enhancement are available for an additional fee.)
Meta Tags
Each page will include meta title, description and keyword tags. This is information targeted at search engines to help increase visitor numbers.
Search Engine Submission
Upon launch the site will be submitted the major search engines. Although the three top search engines are Google, Yahoo and Bing (formerly Microsoft Live Search) there are many other search engines that will drive visitors to a website. 8bits submit the site to many of these alternative search engines to bolster organic search results.
Search engine & people friendly URLs
The web addresses for each page will be logical, as they are designed with usability and search engine optimisation in mind. For example, each page will have a name that reflects the content on the page, such as ‘contact’ instead of something like ‘page.php?page_id=47’. This will help improve Search Engine results to your site.
XML Sitemaps
To further improve Search Engine results an auto-updating XML Sitemap (sitemap.xml) is created and submitted to Google, Yahoo & Bing. This sitemap is specifically built to give search engines useful information about the pages on a website. It lists each URL that needs to be listed and includes a priority setting and the frequency that the page is updated.
The benefit of an XML Sitemap is to assist with organic search engine results. 8bits monitor the performance of XML Sitemaps, and adjust them as required.
